Early childhood educators must have sound knowledge, skills and competencies in working with children and their families in a diverse and democratic society. In addition, they must have an open disposition—being eclectic with repertoire of theories and practices and having good judgment to decide on which one to tap into so that each child's development and learning will be maximized.
